"My real passion is designing and bringing to life gardens that people love.
The transformation is always exciting" - Philip McDonald

My love of plants began at age 15, when I started working at my godfathers Garden Centre and Nursery. After A levels I spent three years at Merrist Wood Horticultural College in Guildford, attaining top student overall, as well as Top Student in Surveying and Plant Knowledge.

I gained a Distinction for my National Diploma in Landscape Design and Construction.

During college I had my first taste of the Chelsea Flower Show where we constructed two show gardens and won RHS Gold medals for both. My next RHS gold medal was for a family garden that I designed and constructed whilst running my first company. The following year we won a coveted Silver Gilt medal, for a Tropical Rainforest Garden, using the expertise gained from owning an acre of glass house where I sold tropical, conservatory and tender plants.

I have a very strong background as a plant specialist, knowing which plants thrive where, how to restore gardens and take care of them, the importance of ongoing ease of maintenance , and how they will grow and look in years to come.

I also understand how to create visual impact using colour, shape and texture. With extensive knowledge in planting plans , I enjoy balancing form and function, transforming spaces into lush, vibrant environments that thrive all year-round.

As well as this, I am experienced in the structural and civil engineering requirements for all aspects of hard landscaping. From technical drawings to expertly manoeuvring the digger I have worked on all aspects of transforming the land.

Through both my original horticultural course, and running my previous landscaping company, my real passion is designing and bringing to life gardens that people love.
The transformation is always exciting.

I look forward to working with you to create your dream space.
